No. DVD-Ranger is a product line of Pixbyte Development SL. We are a development company for disk processing, video analyze and encoding. In the past, our products were licensed to renowned software companies that used it for developing their own software based on our modules. Our modules were so popular, that we decided to create our own software products based on that, and deliver users from all over the world some of the best burning and recording solutions.
Upgrading to DVD-Ranger brings you several advantages. Besides the unsurpassed quality due to the new Physxtech engine (see our quality measurement section for a proof) our product is able to process even the newest DVD releases and even in the case you encounter problems with a DVD you can use our HotFix Manager to repair it instantly without needing to wait for an update. Furthermore the easy steps for copying your favorite DVD and the user-friendly graphical interface will convince you that DVD-Ranger is a fundamental upgrade.

No. We offer only support by e-mail or fax.
The movie you are trying to copy is encrypted. DVD-Ranger can copy personally authored DVDs or movies which are not encrypted. If you wish to copy a movie which is encrypted, you will have to install a third party decrypter like 'machinist2.dll', 'DVD43' or 'AnyDVD' to unlock the DVD.
"machinist2.dll" and "DVD43" are free programs that operate in the background of copying software and decrypt the DVD while you copy it. "machinist2.dll" and "DVD43" are available for free on the internet and they can be located using any search engines.
Many countries have specific laws that prohibit the sale and distribution of software that decrypts DVDs. We like to keep our work within the legal limitations so our products don't come with decryption features. Decrypting programs are developed by independent third parties and are not distributed by or affiliated with Pixbyte Development SL.
Yes, absolutely. Our recommendation is to remove the extra audio languages and drop the extras whenever you need to - this will allow more space for the feature movie and provide you with enhanced video quality.
When we refer to extras, we are talking about anything other than the feature movie, which can be played on a standalone DVD player. Some DVDs come with software as well. Software and data files can be copied directly from the DVD to your hard disk using Windows. DVD-Ranger was not created for copying such files; it was intended to copy movie files (audio and video).
The "Data Bypass mode" will be enabled if the Source disk needs no recompression in order to fit on a DVD R(W). During this process, the DVD-Ranger will copy just the bytes without recompressing or modifying the source data.
This mode was developed for increasing the processing speed in a fast and clear manner, without unneeded threads.
One of the most common problems that leads to poor quality of the copied DVD is the existence of two complete movies on the source DVD. Sometimes DVDs include a Full Screen version and a Wide Screen version. First step to avoid this problem is to deselect one of the versions from the content list and try again.
Another issue would be the size of the movie. If the movie you are trying to copy is too large, start by deselecting any unnecessary languages and extra content, like trailers. The quality of your DVD copy will reach instantly higher standards of quality.
This can happen sometimes when it comes to newly released DVDs. Just go to settings and increase the deposit buffer to the actual size of the DVD.
This is usually caused by a damaged or a dirty DVD. However, there are cases when cyclic redundancy errors are caused by flawed DVDs or a Bad Press from the manufacturing process. Please make sure you clean the DVD thoroughly and try it again. If the problem still persists, try copying the DVD using the feature MOVIE ONLY. It’s a feature that generally works in this situation.
Region settings are automatically incorporated into the DVD-Ranger and a window will pop up if they need to be changed.
Make sure that you are using a blank that is supported by your DVD Player. We recommend using RW media to burn copies created by DVD-Ranger. However, some players will not support this kind of disks. In this case you have to burn your DVD on a DVD+R or DVD-R. Our advice is to avoid using the DVD-RAM.
Besides the situations mentioned above, when a copy plays on the PC and not on the DVD player, it may be due of the newer DVD releases. Make sure you report such DVDs with the bug submission system.
Generally, yes. However, if some disks were reported wrongly by AnyDVD, you have to disable the AI scanner with AnyDVD, for obtaining the best results with DVD-Ranger.
Yes, both DVD NTSC and PAL DVD movies can be copied with DVD Ranger.
Make sure the DVD you are trying to copy is neither dirty nor scratched. Sometimes, small imperfections are not easy to see on the disk, and DVD readers are not able to overcome the errors. Therefore, they send back error codes to the software. A thorough cleaning of the surface of the original DVD might do the trick. If you have both a DVD reader and writer, try using the other DVD device to read the DVD.
Lastly, try another DVD, maybe this one doesn't match the conditions of our DVD reader. Plus, try to play the original DVD on your PC in order to see if it is damaged.
