DVD-Ranger comes with an innovative error reporting technology similar to the one Microsoft uses in their operating system. The DVD-Ranger Error Reporting Tool, called DVDRangerSupport.exe is a little utility which tries to catch fatal errors that may occur and to create a readable and debuggable dump file and log file so we can reproduce and repair the error in our system.

Main report dialog

After a crash/bug occured, the DVDRangerSupport.exe will start. This is the main utility for collecting information and sending the files/data to our servers.
The utility shows the information about the software that crashed. You can click on the icon (1) to see the file details. If you want to see what information the DVD-Ranger Error Reporting Tool will send to us, please click on “click here” (4). A new dialog will pop up and you can see detailed information, see “Detail dialog”.
We ask you to enter your email adress (2) to the error report and a short description (3) what you did before the error occoured. Both information are voluntary. You are free to send the error report anyonymous.
After you finished please click on “Send Error Report” (5) to submit the data to us. If you do not want to send anything click on “Don’t Send” (6).

You can see what kind of files the DVD-Ranger Reporting Tool will collect and send to our server. You can deselect any file if you wish but please keep in mind that the files crash.dmp and errorlog.txt are very important and are always needed.

To deselect a file, click on the checkmark (7). To see the content of the listed files, double click a file and you will see the details in the bottom view (8),After you have finished, please press “Close” (9).
