Rip A DVD
This guide will show you how to use DVD-Ranger to rip a DVD to your hard drive.
Introduction & Requirements
DVD Ranger – Download and install this tool.
Decrypter – Download a decrypter like machinist2.dll, DVD43 or AnyDVD
Step1:
Insert DVD into your DVD drive

Step 2:
Select the desired project, by clicking on one of the target buttons. For this tutorial click on right part (Arrow) of the DVD-Player button and select from the pop up menu: “Automatic Complete Copy”.

Step 3:
From “Select your Source”, Select the source location of your DVD.

Step 4:
Wait for DVD-Ranger to analyze the disc completely. (The analyze window will close automatically).

Step 5:
Select the target. You have different target options. For this tutorial we select “Copy to hard disc”.

Step 6:
You can change some settings for this project by clicking on “Settings” (1).

Step 7:
Inside the settings grid you have to activate the “Double Layer Copy” (1). This will create a big DVD copy that will copy the whole original DVD without recompression. Original quality.
Inside the option “Save as” (2) you can select the path where DVD-Ranger will save the disk. DVD-Ranger will allways create a new folder with the diskname.

Step 8:
Click on the button “Start Now!”

Step 9:
If you activated to remove the RegionCode (recommended) DVD-Ranger will ask you about the original RegionCode of the DVD if there are more than one possible.
Hint: You will find the original RegionCode at the back of the DVD cover.

Step 10:
If you miss Step 7, and the “Save As” field is empty, DVD-Ranger now ask for the path. If the field “Save As” contain a path, this Step 10 is obsolete.

Step 11:
DVD-Ranger now makes a prescan(1) of the source DVD. After the prescan is done, DVD-Ranger will automatically switch to the copy mode(2).
DVD-Ranger will just rip the data to your hard drive. So you will not see any preview. “Data Bypass Mode” means the data will be copied 1:1.
To stop the copy process press “Cancel” (3).

Step 12:
After copying has been finished, DVD-Ranger will show you a message.
