This guide will show you how to use DVD-Ranger to copy only your main movie from your DVDs onto your hard disc. Copying from a DVD-9 disc to hdd can require a lot of compression and results in quality loss. By leaving out the menu’s and extras your movie will only require minimum compression, and with the DVD-Ranger Physxtech Enhancements, you should be left with a nice high quality backup.

Introduction & Requirements
DVD Ranger – Download and install this tool.
Decrypter – Download a decrypter like machinist2.dll, DVD43 or AnyDVD

Step1:
Insert DVD into your DVD drive

Step 2:
Select the desired project, by clicking on one of the target buttons. For this tutorial click on right hand part (Arrow) of the DVD-Player button and select from the pop up menu: “Automatic Movie Only Copy”.

Step 3:
From “Select your Source” (2), select the location of source of your DVD; whether it is an ISO file, or present on hard disc, or on a removable storage device.

Step 4:
Wait for DVD-Ranger to analyze the disc completely. (The analyze window will close automatic).

Step 5:
Select the target (3). You have different target options. For this tutorial we select “Copy to Harddisc”.

Step 6:
You can change some settings for this project by clicking on “Settings” (4).The settings dialog allows you to change some project settings.
Hint: Please fo not forget that this are “Project” settings. If you change the project type or the target type, this settings will deleted.

Step 7:
Click on the button “Start Now!”

Step 8:
If you activated to remove the RegionCode (recommended) DVD-Ranger will ask you about the original RegionCode of the DVD if there are more than one possible.
Hint: You will find the original RegionCode at the back of the DVD cover.

Step 9:
DVD-Ranger will now ask where you want to save the copy to your hard disc.
Hint: DVD-Ranger will create a folder according to the disc label.

Step 10:
DVD-Ranger now make a prescan(5) of the source DVD to calculate the best compression. After the prescan is done,DVD-Ranger will automatic switch to the copy mode(6). To stop the copy process press “Cancel” (7).

Step 11:
After the copy is finish, DVD-Ranger will show you a message.
