CloneBuddy is the free ripper from the DVD-Ranger team. CloneBuddy will copy a DVD on hard disk, as a folder copy or an ISO disk image. It will remove the region code, but not shrink the movie in any way.

Step1:
Start CloneBuddy

Step2:
Select the DVD reader you want to use. The reader has the ability to remove the encryption from the DVD.
Remark: If you select a reader that is not available on your system, CloneBuddy will not decrypt the DVD. If you get an “Encryption” error from CloneBuddy, please select another reader to use.

Step3:
Select the source from the drive list (2). Wait for CloneBuddy to analyze the disc completely.

Step4:
Select the target. For this guide we use a single ISO disk image file. If you do not select the path/file or the combination between the selection and the output type is wrong, CloneBuddy will inform you.

Step5:
Click on “Start Copy” to transfer the DVD to your hard drive. If you press “Cancel” while the transfer process is running, CloneBuddy will end the process and delete the file(s) that have already been written.

Step6:
When CloneBuddy is finished you will get an information window that displays.
