Burn A CD/DVD For TV (DivX/XviD)
This guide will show you how to use DVD-Ranger to burn a existing XviD/DIvX) video file from hard disc to a blank.
Introduction & Requirements
DVD Ranger – Download and install this tool.
Step1:
Start DVD-Ranger. Go to the menu “Burn” and click on “Burn Data CD/DVD” (1). By default, DVD-Ranger will open the burn dialog with the predefined disc type “Data CD/DVD” (2).

Step 2:
For Xvid/DivX or other “mobile” video files, you just need a common disk structure. So you have to add files or folders to the disk project. Just click on “Add File” (3) to add a XviD/DivX file.

Step 3:
The selected files and folders are added to the disk layout. You have now the possibility delete the added files again or also rename them.
Remark: Because many players only understand short names (e.g. 12345678.XXX) we recommend to rename the files.

Step 4:
By default new disc projects have the label “New” (4). To change the disc label click the right mouse button on the disc label and select the function “Rename” from the popup menu (5) . Enter your new name and hit return. The new disc label has been saved now (6).

Step 5:
Select the target device where you want to burn the file(s) to (7). You can select a single device or if you select “Multidevice” you can burn to more than one device at the same time.

Step 6:
You can use the predefined project settings from DVD-Ranger or change them according to your needs. To change the settings, click on menu “Edit” the function “Settings” (9). Now the “Settings” (10) dialog will pop up, where you can do the changes. Finaly click “OK” (11) to save your own settings.

Step 7:
Now you are ready to burn the disc to the blank. To start the burn process, click on menu “Burn” the function”Start Burning” (12). Now the burn window opens (13) that will show the progress of the burn process.

Step 8:
If no disk is inside the recording device, like there is still the original, DVD-Ranger will give you this information now, after you inserted a blank, this message will close automaticly.
Remark: If you see, that the wrong recording device is selected, please click cancel and read further on Step 9.

Step 9:
After the burn process has successfully finished, you will see two new activated buttons. If you click on “Save Log” (14) you can save the current burn log file to disk, like to send it to our support.
After you have finished, you can burn a new copy by clicking on “New Copy”. You have also the possibility to save the current project to an ISO disk image file. If you have seen inside Step 9, that the wrong recording device was selected, you can change the recording device by clicking on “Change Device” (16) After this start a new process by clicking on “New Copy”.
To close this dialog, click on Done (15).
