Converting media requires a basic understanding of our interface, and this basic tutorial is designed to alleviate any concerns about usability and help users to avoid any arising problems when copying or converting your favorite titles.

1) Open the DVD-Ranger Settings Queue

1.1) Check All Decrypter Settings
VLC LibDVDcss is the perfect integration to the DVD-Ranger suite. Many who have been using machinist2.dll would be well served to make the switch to VLC LibDVDcss, as the DVDneXtCOPY offering is outdated and will not be compatible with most newly released DVDs or Blu-rays.
1.2) Disable HotFix.
If you are looking to avoid flaws in your content conversions and maximize the quality you get when copying your content, be sure to avoid any nextTech database from DVDneXtCOPY. The suite will not give you the results you are looking for. For this reason, we recommend disabling the utility.

2) Disable All External Direct Decrypters.
Disabling external decrypters is important, largely in part because they will dock to the system before DVD-Ranger processes any data. DVD-Ranger has this utility built-in to the design, meaning that external utilities are no longer needed.

2.1) Disable AnyDVD with its TrayMenu
The disabling of the utility will be complete when the icon becomes GREY, letting you know that it is no longer in use.
2.2) Shutdown DVD43
DVD43 once had a place in content conversion, but the utility is severely outdated and will only cause problems in the copying process.

3) Cleaning DeCSS Cache
We highly recommend that you clean your DeCSS cache periodically. Anytime a DVD is opened in your system with DVD43 or AnyDVD enabled, you must immediately clean up the DeCSS cache. Once this is finished, you must restart DVD-Ranger.
